I shot this photograph of Darryl Torr a while back and he asked if he could use it for something so I just saw it again. I really like it. Darryl Torr is an amazing producer, sound engineer and musician and really just a really nice guy with more passion for the music industry than anyone else I have ever met. He has been in the music industry for ages and played in some amazing bands and is also the CEO of Openroom Productions which is responsible for many really good albums that have been released in South Africa. He also just won himself a grammy for producing the Soweto Gospel Choir.
I said earlier today that I would try and post the panoramic I shot during sunset so here it is. I photographed it with my 50mm and the total picture is stitched from 42 still photographs.
Please click it to view the image larger because that is the only way to appreciate it.
As anyone who follows my work will know, I have a thing for sunsets and they sky and clouds. I nag my poor wife everyday to look at the sky and I can see her expression everytime. Today though, I felt like I should really make sure she looks and she agreed, it really was one of the best skies I have ever seen before. If only we were in the bush or something. Anyway, I shot these 4 photographs of the sunset as well as a super cool panoramic which I will post when I have stitched it.
Wow, I love this photograph. It is one of the 39000+ still photographs that I shot for the Zebra and GiraffeOxymoron music video. I don’t want to give anything of it away but I love this photo so much. This is of Darren Leader and he is the drummer for the band. He has such a cool style when he plays and is genuinely a super nice humble guy.
I have been shooting quite a few photographs with my lomo cameras to play around and really love the way that they come out. I had a bunch processed yesterday and thought that I should post these three of us driving because they are my favourite. Explore lomo photography if you haven’t, it’s really fun and anyone will love the results.
Yesterday I worked as the DOP (Director of Photography) for the new Zebra and Giraffe music video for their song Oxymoron. I think the stuff we did really is amazing and think that it will look incredible when it’s finished but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done to get it done.
Anyway, I shot some still portraits of each of the band members during scene change and think that they came out really awesome. They are super different and dirty but that is how I wanted them to be.
Hope you well and all having a good week. I am feeling sick with flu so I am going to sleep now.
I shot some photographs just a few weeks back for my client Indulge as they have now opened their restaurant in Rivonia and it is really amazing. I had a lot going during the time of this shoot with my wedding and actually haven’t really looked at them until now. I thought it would be cool to post the first 2 photos that I shot of a food setup in an olive garden and then 2 photos that Sarah photographed with me in them. Funny thing.
My friend Alice has had dreadlocks for over 4 years now and she has been dying to cut it so that she can start a fresh. She asked me if I could maybe shoot a photograph of her with her hair before she cuts it so we got together on saturday night and I photographed the process for the hell of it and it was super fun. I think she looks super cool with the new hair. Below are 2 photographs of her just before the cut and then a series of photos during the cut. There are plenty more but I want to go to bed now. Haha.
I shot some photographs for the Cassette crew a few weeks back during the recording of their new album, which sounds amazing by the way, and I haven’t really had any time to look through them yet until now and there are some amazing shots. I love these two of frontman Jon busy writing some stuff in deep thought while Nathan was recording some bass lines. I really love being in studio and really love being involved in the music scene so much. Look out for the next Cassette album, it’s going to definitely be a good one.
Alan and I are such dorks and have just downloaded the Wordpress application for our iPhones and this is my first post to test it out. It seems a bit glitchy but for now it will be alright.
